Blue U volunteers participated in the New Hope Summer Safety Camp, where campers learn about safety in a fun and engaging way. Blue U volunteers talked to campers about how engineers incorporate safety into the projects they work on and how campers can be safe while projects are under construction. Students did an activity where they built bridges in small groups and then had a competition to see whose bridge could safely hold the most cars (1 lb. weights). The camp is sponsored by the New Hope Parks and Recreation Department, New Hope Police Department, West Metro Fire-Rescue District, and other local businesses and civic organizations.
